In cooperation with "Get Bent
Fabrication" we have designed our Ultra free flowing headers and
exhaust system for the 350Z. We took
a close look at all the other systems being offered and
decided to approach it a little differently. It will be
available very soon.
The headers are a very straight forward
mid-length design made of 14 gauge mild steel (.083 wall
thickness). Most other companies are using flimsy 18 gauge
with a .047 wall. The primary tubes are 1 5/8" and use 2 1/2"
collectors with convenient ball/socket flanges. They are
longer than the stock manifolds and will require our
converters or extended hook-up pipes.
The hi-flow catalytic converters are
the Random Technology 2 1/2" 590 cfm metallic series. They
have been tested at the track against straight pipes and the
numbers were virtually identical. 2 1/2" extended
hook-up pipes (off-road use only) are also available.
Both will bolt between our headers and the stock cat-back
exhaust location.
We made the prototype exhaust system
out of 14 gage mild steel (.083 wall thickness). It is a
true dual exhaust with a balance pipe. The entire exhaust
system is made of dual 2 1/4" tubing. We chose the SpinTech
"Pro Street" series mufflers for their awesome sound and
flow characteristics. They are known for their very deep and
bold sound at idle and cruising and NASCAR-like song at WOT!
We did not agree with the stock or most available after
market muffler location because of the need to add bends and
turns in the exhaust path. This is not desired and not
necessary. Both Pro Street mufflers reside next to one
another under the stock heat shields. The exhaust tips are
made of 4" mirror polished stainless steel to allow for a
stock appearance.
The Get Bent Fabrication
"True Flow Balance Pipe" is an
exclusive design based on lots of research and development
in exhaust technology.
The sound of this system must be heard
to be believed! At idle it sounds like a well tuned V8. Tap
the throttle and "Indy" comes to mind.
The performance from our complete
system is also something the other companies have not been
able to offer. The engine revs more freely and the increase
in power is amazing! The 2003 model we used gained 22
HP and 16.7 lbs./ft of torque at the rear wheels. This was
achieved with the above described exhaust, headers and
extended hook-up pipes.
We will be offering a couple different
systems as we understand not everyone wants such an extreme
system. We plan to offer the above as our "Track system",
available in 2 1/4" or 2 1/2" for those with nitrous or
forced induction applications. We will also be offering a
quieter system utilizing quad mufflers or removable rear
mufflers for the best of street and strip.
